Bodies of Coronavirus Victims Transported by Military Convoys in Italy

A shocking picture was published in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica on Thursday showing a convoy of military vehicles apparently transporting bodies of coronavirus victims.

The newspaper says that the city of Bergamo, a city in the Lombardy region northeast of Milan could not cope with the number of deaths, and bodies have been sent to be cremated outside the region.

Italy, the country with the worst coronavirus outbreak outside China, announced its largest single-day jump in the number of new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, increasing by 4,207 in only 24 hours.

The total number of cases there now stands at 35,713 and there have been 2,978 deaths thus far, according to the WHO.
