The offices of the Greek consulate in the French city of Nantes were attacked by a group of French anarchists on Wednesday night.

The group threw rocks and broke the windows in the ground floor of the building.

The anarchists also wrote a slogan on an external wall of the building which said ”STOP LOI ET ORDRE À EXARCHEIA”, which means ”Stop law and order in Exarcheia.

The slogan referred to the recent efforts by Greek police to clear buildings occupied by anarchist groups in Athens’ Exarcheia neighborhood, which is known as an anarchist ghetto where law enforcement has historically been problematic at best.

The French anarchists took responsibility for the Nantes attack with a statement uploaded onto a French anarchist website, which declared that ”This was just a warning.”
