Dusseldorf Greeks Protest Over ‘Macedonia’ Name Dispute

Almost 4,000 Greeks rallied in the heart of Dusseldorf, Germany on Saturday to protest against the use of the term ‘Macedonia‘ by the government in Skopje.

The flag-waving crowd assembled in Burgplatz for speeches in Greek and German, detailing the crucial historical and political arguments over the name dispute which has been going on for decades.

A letter from the Greek youth of Düsseldorf, read by a Greek student in German, addressed Chancellor Angela Merkel and the German Parliament.

The overall atmosphere was peaceful and the rally ended with the Greek national anthem.
