Satirical Play “Alexis & Yanis” Hits the London Stage (video)

“Alexis & Yanis”, “a love story between the Greek prime minister and his finance minister during the negotiations of the Greek debt in 2015,” will hit the London stage October 27-29.

Writer, director and protagonist Alexandre Kollatos describes the satirical play as presenting a different perspective of the events during the first six months of 2015, when negotiations between Greece and creditors put Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and minister of finance Yanis Varoufakis under the spotlight in global media.

The two protagonists, Kollatos as Varoufakis and Antonis Ziogas as Tsipras, said that they want to peresent the play to as many as possible from the 450,000 Greeks who were forced to leave their homeland after the economic crisis hit the country.

This time they will be at the stage of The Cypriot Community Centre in London, to present an alternate version of what happened between Greece and Europe, and between Alexis and Yanis, in those turbulent months of 2015.
