Greece at the Vienna World Tourism Exhibition

vienna-tourism-exhibitionThe Greek National Tourism Organization along with its co-exhibitors have been given a stand in this year’s Vienna World Tourism Exhibition which was organized with the participation of 700 exhibitors from 70 countries. The fair will open its doors on Thursday, January 15 and last until Sunday.

Last year, Greece was one of the most popular summer tourist destinations, therefore, Austrian travel agencies are rather optimistic about the summer season of 2015. Meanwhile, GNTO has organized meetings with journalists and tourism operators, showcasing Greek products, wine tasting, music events and contests with questions regarding Greek destinations and travel packages as well as accommodation.

The GNTO stand will also include co-exhibitors and representatives from various Greek locations such as Attica, Crete, the Ionian Islands, Thessaly, Pelion, Volos, and Rhodes, as well as tourism businesses, while the region of North Aegean will be provided with its own stand.

Greece, has been a top tourist destination for an average of 400,000 Austrians arriving in the country annually. In proportion to Austria’s population which reaches 8.5 million people, Greece is ranked first in terms of foreign tourist arrivals.
