London-Based Greek Boxer Wins World Title in Athens

600AretiWorldTitleAreti Mastrodouka is a 38-year-old Greek boxer based in London. Last Sunday, October 12, she won the world title in GBU Women’s Lightweight in her own hometown of Athens. She defeated rival Hana Horakova with a unanimous points decision (6-11).

Areti Mastrodouka, known as “The Master,” is part of Alec Wikley’s team. In her last fight, she made history by winning the first professional boxing bout to be held in Greece. She dominated ten rounds of fighting by out-boxing her opponent with efficiency. Her Czech opponent was at a loss to respond to her tenacity.

Mastrodouka has proved her dedication to winning boxing titles by joining Alec Wilkey’s team and trekking to London to train in his gym. She won her first title as a professional back in November 2012, beating Lana Cooper to win the International Masters Title.
