Albania: “Omonoia” Complains About Violation of Greek Minority’s Rights

albaniaThe Greek organization “Omonoia” has accused Albania‘s left-wing governing coalition of “non-respect of the pre-election and post-election agreements and continuous violation of human rights and demands of Greek National Minority in the fields of administrative reform, education, ownership and equal participation in public administration.”

With this announcement, the General Council of the Greek organization calls on Albania’s “Party on Human Rights” to take action to rectify the situation.

Omonoia is a Greek social, political and cultural organization that promotes minority rights for the Greek minority in southern Albania. It was founded in 1991, after the collapse of Albania’s authoritarian regime, by representatives of the Greek national minority in the village of Derviçan.
