Georgia: Greek Participation in International Literature Festival

Lit_tourUnder the shadows of the mythical Caucasus mountains in Tbilisi, capital of Georgia, writers and book industry professionals from ten countries will meet at the literary festival “LitTour” that will be held from September 11 to 14.

The festival aims to become a platform of communication between writers and publishers who will have the chance to share their ideas and experiences while presenting their work and meeting readers and professionals of the book industry.

This year’s event will be attended by writers from the Netherlands, Switzerland, Hungary, Egypt, India, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia, along with Georgian writers.

Greece will be represented by author and book critic Dimitris Nikou who was invited by the Institute of Georgian Literature. The Greek writer will talk about the current situation in the Greek book market through the prism of the economic crisis and will read an extract from his latest published novel “Domino” in English.

The festival is being jointly organized by the Georgian Cultural Relations Center, Siesta publishing house, the Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association, the Writer’s House, the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia with the assistance of the Municipality of Tbilisi and the support of the European literature organization, Literature Across Frontiers.
