Professor Anastasia Ailamaki Thrives Abroad

Ailamaki

Anastasia Ailamaki is a Greek professor from Chania, Crete, born in Cyprus. She is one of the many distiguished Greeks abroad, as a Carnegie Mellon University faculty member at the Computer and Communication Science department, where she works as a full time professor.  She is also the vice president at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL),where she  leads DIAS (Data Intensive Applications and Systems) laboratory since 2008.

She studied computer science at Patras University and earned her Masters degree from the Technical University of Crete.  She carried on with her studies at Rochester University,U.S.A and completed her Ph.D at Wisconsin University, U.S.A.
