Greek Restaurant Creates Food Portrait of Queen Elizabeth

Queen ElizabethThe Real Greek restaurant has created a food portrait of Queen Elizabeth II for the occasion of her official birthday and the opening of a new branch in Windsor. 

The food artist Nathan Wyburn was working for four hours to complete the food portrait. He used a wide variety of ingredients including traditional Greek food. The portrait is made of :

• 50 olives
• 30 flatbreads
• 5 dolmades
• 3 large bowls of melitzanosalata
• 3 large bowls of tomato ghaini
• 3 large bowls of smoked chilli relish
• 2 bowls of hummus
• 2 lemons, 2 celery sticks.

Christos Karatzenis, owner and head of operations at The Real Greek, said: “We wanted to introduce The Real Greek to Windsor by celebrating its most famous resident but with a fun Greek twist.  I hope the Queen will like the portrait and appreciate the unusual use of the ingredients we use in the restaurant.”

Karatzenis added that the Queen’s husband is from Greece which shows that she has great taste. He also said that the Queen will be warmly accepted in case she wants to visit the restaurant and enjoy the Greek cuisine.

The Real Greek was founded in 1999 and has opened several locations in London such as Bankside, Marylebone, Convent Garden, Westfield London, Spitalfields, Westfield Stratford City and Windsor.
