Brussels: The Ancient Greek Virtue Award

vravio-aksiasThe Association of Epirotes in Belgium innovated and established for the first year The Ancient Greek Virtue Award, in collaboration with the Secondary Education authority of Belgium.

The award will be bestowed by decision of the teachers’ council of each class to the students of secondary education, who showed a particular interest in Ancient Greek and Greek culture through classical education provided in public schools in the City of Brussels.

With this initiative, the Association wants to reward worthy students, as well as to strengthen the teaching of classical studies emphasizing the global Greek heritage.

The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at the Fondation Atelier Marcel Hastir, rue du commerce 51 à 1000 Bruxelles.

In a world where the economic crisis is trying to find solutions for the Economics of Education, a good reminder to those who devalue Education, is that the word crisis doesn’t only mean conflict, result and opinion, but also assessment as well as justice.
