Greek Scientists Honoured with the “Marie Curie Award”

Marie-Curie-AwardThe team of researchers of Theodosia Maina-Nock and Berthold Nock of the Greek centre for scientific research “Demokritos,” was honoured with the internationally acclaimed “Marie Curie Award.” The awarding, concerned their research in molecular radiopharmaceutical, took place in the recent annual conference of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine in Lyon, France.

The team was awarded for an original research paper, which helps in the diagnosis and the treatment of cancer.

Besides the two researchers, three PhD candidates also participated in the team. They are the biologist Catherine Kaloudis and the chemists Panteleimon Marsouvanidis and Emmanuel Lymperis.

The “Marie Curie Award” is awarded annually to the best research paper presented at the annual meeting of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine, which is considered to be one of the highest regarded science conventions of the European Union.
