The Austrian daily newspaper Die Presse in an extensive article entitled, A PhD and only three euros hourly wage,  describes the difficult situation young  university graduates are facing in Greece.

The number of Greek students who come to Austria for studies has equally risen. In 2008, there were 75 Greek students enrolled in Austrian universities, while for the winter semester of 2012 alone, the number of enrollments of Greek students was more than doubled.

Die Preesse, in its relevant article published on Sept, 25, hosted the statements of two Greek women who live in Vienna. Both of them came to Austria for studies and after they completed them, decided to stay and work there.

Greece is beautiful for older people, not for the young, or at least not for the young people who have dreams. Who can still have dreams in Greece?” the two Greeks in Vienna wonder.

According to data released by the national statistical office of Austria, Statistik Austria, the number of Greeks who moved to Austria in 2012 stood at 1,201 people, while during the same year 566 Greeks left the country. Another Statistik Austria’s report showed that the number of Greeks seeking a job in Austria rose by 15 in the last year compared to 2011.
