According to Tour Operators Polish Union, there’s been a strong comeback of the Polish visiting Greece with a jump in the number of charter flights over last year.
Greece ranks first among the preferences of Polish tourists in charter flights. Polish bookings to Greece went up 41.2 percent after falling 43.5 percent in 2012, a year when many would-be visitors stayed away in the aftermath of images of protests, strikes and riots against austerity.
Greece is enjoying a record-breaking tourism year with more than 17 million visitors expected, giving the struggling economy a boost. Greece is now the first pick for foreign vacations for the Polish.
The data came from the Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Greek Embassy in Warsaw. It showed that Greece has gained a 22.5 percent market share of Polish tourists in the first six months of the year and some 18.2 percent by the 20th week.
