Konstantatos’ Luton at San Sebastian Festival

img_17470The first feature film of Michalis Konstantatos, Luton, will premiere at the 61st edition of San Sebastian Film Festival, in Spain, which will take place from Sept. 20-28.

The plot of the film Luton is the following:  Jimmy is a wealthy high-school student, about 17 years old. Mary is a trainee lawyer in her 30’s. Makis is a 55-year-old family man and the owner of a mini-market.

Three very different people to each other and their everyday life. In the frame of their conventional life that pressures them, when everything seems so still and expected, these three people find their own way out.

The film was selected by L’ Atelier Cinefondation, Cannes 2011. The script was written by both the director Michalis Konstantatos and Stelios Likouresis. Nicholas Vlachakis, Eleftheria Komi, Christos Sapountzis, Yota Argyropoulou play the main roles in the film.

Michalis Konstantatos studied Directing at Stavrakos Athens Film School, Sociology at the University of Athens and he completed an MA in Architecture in the field of Designing Space and Culture at the National Technical University of Athens.

Since 2002 he has been directing short films, TV dramas, music videos, experimental short films, video installations for public spaces and theatre plays. He is also the co-founder and director of the theater company Blindspot. He has written and directed two short films that were awarded in various international film festivals.
