Greek President Visits Poland, Talks Economic Cooperation

Greek President Karolos Papoulias visits PolandGreek president Karolos Papoulias visited Poland on Monday and met with his Polish counterpart Bronisław Komorowski. The presidents signed a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of culture, education, science, sports, youth and mass media.
“Bilateral relations [between Poland and Greece] are at a very high level,” Mr Papoulias said after the meeting.
President Komorowski suggested that Greece should look into opening Special Economic Zones in their country. “I’m sure SEZ’s could help Greece boost its economic growth,” he said.
Both presidents discussed privatization efforts in each others countries. Greece wants to interest Polish companies in the country’s privatization process, while Poland wants to share its experience with its own privatization process.
The two presidents also appeared at a Polish-Greek business forum organized to accompany the visit.
