About 500 people, most of them journalists, gathered on June 18 outside the offices of the European Commission and the building which houses the Greek embassy in Ljubljana, Slovenia in order to express their solidarity to the workers of ERT.
The demonstration was organized by the Slovenian Association of Journalists (DNS), the union of journalists and trade union confederation ZSSS, with key request the revocation of the decision to close the ERT and the return of journalists in their jobs.
The organizers of the protest in the Slovenian capital said they believe that the European Commission should take “appropriate measures” on the issue and the Slovenian government should do everything possible to persuade the Greek authorities to revoke this decision.
