Greece Biggest Investor In Bulgaria

Bulgaria_GreeceGreece is the largest investor in Bulgaria with 9.4 million euros ($12.23 billion) of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during the first two months of 2013, according to Bulgaria’s official data.

Luxembourg follows with 7.9 million euros ($10.28 million,) Russia with 6.7 million euros ($8.71 million) and Austria with 6.1 million euros ($7.94 million).

However, according to preliminary data issued from the Central Bank of Bulgaria, during January and February of 2013, FDI in Bulgaria declined by 92 percent compared to the same period last year.

The total FDI reached 40.3 million euros ($52.45 million)  in the first two months of 2013, while during the same period last year it had reached 524.3 million euros ($682.6 million).

The same preliminary data revealed that the Bulgarian direct investment abroad rose by 6.8 million euros ($8.85 million,) compared to 23.8 million euros ($32 million) which was the rise for the January-February 2012.
