Cameron Touched by Greek Doctor

Mando Watchon, is the heroic pediatrician as current Prime Minister of England James Cameron, confessed to the Daily Mail newspaper.

Mando Watchon, nee Anastasaki, who comes from Pervolakia, Kissamos on the island of Crete, and is a relative of famous Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston (Aniston comes from Anastasaki), excels as a doctor at a University Hospital of England, while she doesn’t forget her Cretan descent and visits Kissamos every summer.

Her acquaintance with Cameron came at a tragic moment for him, shortly before losing his 6-year-old son to a condition called the Ohtahara Syndrome, which is a rare and very severe form of epilepsy with symptoms similar to those of cerebral palsy.

At that time Watchon was working as a pediatrician at Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust, a public hospital to which Cameron turned showing his confidence in the National Health System.

Five years after his tragic loss, Cameron never forgot the love with which Watchon took care of his son, doing whatever was humanly possible and even more. When the Daily Mail asked the British Prime Minister to choose two individuals that he singled out during his experience at NHS, in the context of unity launched by the newspaper for the “Health Hero Award”, his first choice was Watchon.

As Cameron noted, he gave his first nomination to Ivan’s ‘really wonderful’ pediatrician, who obviously loved him and really mourned at his funeral. For Cameron and his wife, Mando is a doctor that never abandoned Ivan, even when it was obvious that the situation was really difficult. “She left you feeling safe in the knowledge that everything was being done that could be done.”
