Pan-Orthodox Choirs Meet in Munich

Sinavlia_MunchenThe meeting of the Pan-Orthodox ecclesiastic choirs took place in Bavaria’s capital for the ninth consecutive year, with the initiative of the Orthodox Theological Faculty of the University of Munich.

The Pan-Orthodox concert was hosted by the All Saints Court Church in Munich, with the collaboration of the other Greek Orthodox Parishes of the Transfiguration of the Savior (known as Salvatorkirche), of Saint George’s and of the German-speaking parish of Saint Andrew. This is the second time since 2005, when the concerts started.

Many Orthodox priests and faithful from 10 different Orthodox parishes in Munich, as well as many German citizens, attended the concert. Among them was the professor of the Protestant Theology Faculty of the University of Munich, Gunther Wenz. The Most Rev. Archbishop Mark of the Diocese of Berlin and Germany of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) gave his blessings.

The next choirs’ meeting will be hosted by the Russian Church (Outside of Russia), at its Cathedral in Munich.
