Greek Summer Expected to Boost Economy

Summer_Time_Greece_3The German journal Spiegel cites a report on the explosive growth of tourism coming to boost the Greek economy.

According to the journal, Greece expects that this time the Troika’s visit will be easier and there will be no complications over the disbursement of the next installment. In addition, Greece has now claims for flexibility on the program.

The article refers that the atmosphere caused by the Italian elections is probably favorable for Greece. German reporters say that the Prime Minister of Greece, Antonis Samaras, will proceed to a reshuffle to make the government move in a more stable way.

Tourism is Greece’s greatest hope at the moment. Spiegel reports that this year there is expected a top increase in tourism arrivals in Greece, which is going to give a breath to the country’s economy. The magazine cites the Prime Minister’s words: “If we hold on until the summer, we will boom in September.”

According to the magazine, Greece relies on the upcoming period after the German elections, when it will be easier with a new German government to allow a new “haircut” of the Greek debt.
