Vlagkopoulou Wins Rome Acting Competition

82BE11794770C67D2BACCFDB9CA9E0FFDimitra Vlagkopoulou, an honor graduate of the National Theatre Drama School last year who represented Greece, has won the the international competition for young actors, organized by the Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica Silvio D’Amico, di Roma (Premio delle Arti 2012).

Seventeen young actors from leading national drama schools, academies and conservatories of many countries throughout Europe took part in the competition. The President of the jury was the awarded Italian actress, Virna Lisi.

Vlagkopoulou presented a synthesis from the role of Cassandra to Agamemnon of Oresteia by Aeschylus, using freely the material she had collected from the three years of her apprenticeship at the National Theatre School. Her professor Filareti Komninou as well as the controller studies of the School Victor Ardipis, offered help during her preparation.

The organization of the event as well as the participation of the National Theatre School was part of the project E:UTAS (Europe: Union of Theatre Schools and Academies), in which the school became a member during  last year’s period.
