British writer, Ali Smith considers the places where art and life intersect, sometimes collide and meld.

Artful is a transformative book separated in four sections, originally delivered as lectures on comparative literature at St. Anne’s College, Oxford. The author writes in the first person. Smith describes Persona’s own journey, who recently lost her longtime love, through her anguish and her responses to her beloved’s notes.
