Cyprus and Slovakia Join Art and Culture

The well-known Cypriot composer, Michalis Christodoulidis, gave a concert titled Myths and Music held in the Concert Hall of the Slovak Philharmonic, Bratislava, on the occasion of the Cypriot EU Presidency. The lyrics were in Cypriot dialect sung by distinguished Cypriot musicians and singers, such as Paulina Konstantinopoulou and Koulis Theodorou.

Before the concert, Cyprus and Slovakia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Art and Culture. The concert was attended by Slovak government officials and MPs, many diplomatic delegation leaders, people of letters and arts.

The Memorandum of Cooperation between Cyprus and Slovakia, which covers the years 2012 to 2015, was signed on behalf of Slovakia by Deputy Minister for Culture, Ivan Secik and on behalf of Cyprus, by Olympia Stylianou, Director General of the Cypriot Ministry of Education, who highlighted the importance of the promotion of relations between the two countries.
