Deputy Foreign Minister Kostas Tsiaras had a meeting with His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on Nov. 29 during the Greek official’s visit to to Istanbul.
Tsiaras informed the Ecumenical Patriarch on the progress of the draft law regarding changes to the World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE), as well as on his meeting with the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Conference of European Churches (CEC) held in Athens.
The Patriarch said he was gratified that Greece would be getting new bailout loans and expressed optimism for the country’s future. Tsiaras said he would also attend the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Enthronement Feast-Day celebrations.
