More Greeks Looking for Work in Austria

According to the Austrian daily Die Presse, the number of Greeks looking for a job in Austria has increased by 37 percent within the period of July 2011 – July 2012.

Portuguese migrants searching for better job prospects in Austria rank first with a 50 percent increase within the last year, followed by Greeks, and Spanish, at 20 percent.

On paper, however, the official number of Greeks searching for a job in Austria is 156, Spanish, 140 and 120 Portuguese. From the 27 Member-States of the EU, there are more Germans than anyone looking for a job in Austria, exceeding 4,500, followed by Romanians and Poles.
