‘Sports in Cyprus’ Event Held by London’s Hellenic Centre

The Hellenic Centre in London organizes many fascinating events, especially during this summer obviously since the British capital is hosting the Olympic Games.

Occasioned by the Olympics, visitors to the British capital as well as Londoners will have the chance to learn about the history of sports in Cyprus. Entitled “Sports in Cyprus: A History of Centuries,” the Hellenic Centre will host from Monday 30 July to Sunday 5 August an exhibition of photographs of archaeological findings, spanning from the Bronze Age to the Roman Period (2500BC-330AD).

The Cyprus Archaeological Museum in Nicosia, Pierides-Laiki Group Museum and Limassol District Museum provided the London-based culture centre with their collections to present a full image of the history of  sports.

The exhibition is organized by the Cyprus Athletics Organization and can be found at Friends Room of the Hellenic Centre. For more information, visit the official website of the Hellenic Centre: http://www.helleniccentre.org/pages/events-culture/upcoming-events/sports-in-cyprus-a-history-of-centuries.php

The Hellenic Centre showcases must-see events for anyone interested in Greek and Cypriot culture. Most events are free and conducted in English.
