Greek Minority in Albania Complains against Power Outage

Greek citizens of the Southern Albanian villages of Dropull (Gjirokastër District), complained about the power outage blocking the Gjirokastër-Kakavia Highway for almost an hour necessitating a police intervention to free the circulation of the road  linking Albania and Greece.

Greek citizens were protesting against the “arbitrary and illegal actions of the Czech electricity provider ‘CEZ’.” It’s the second time there has been an unjustified, illegal power blackout in the region, according to Greeks of Southern Albania, who claim they have been paying their bills timely.

The Czech company representatives, on the other hand, claim the power outage was imposed legally, because citizens of Dropull villlages have not paid their bills.
