Greek Scientist Helps People With Macular Degeneration See Again

A great scientific achievement made by a Greek scientist offers great opportunity to people with vision problems. 95% of people suffering from macular degeneration now have the opportunity to wear special glasses that can improve their vision significantly.

Optometrist Tatiana Skoutari is a distinguished figure in the scientific community. She designed these special glasses to improve patients’ sight; this technology is regarded as significantly important and innovative.

Skoutari is a renowned optometrist, specializing in low vision, examiner of the EU for the European Diploma in Optometry and also an assistant professor at the University of Madrid.

“People who were unable to see due to macular degeneration, almost blind, now have the opportunity to read books, watch TV, see human figures and objects around them quite clearly,” says Skoutari. This method is based on a special lens made in the same laboratories which provide NASA with super-sensitive optical instruments as well.
