Rare Documents of Greece’s History Exhibited at the Bavarian State Library of Munich

Rare documents from the history of Greece, such as the Constitution of 1844, bearing the original signatures of Greek representatives who composed and signed the text, an original letter from the Society of Friends (Filiki Eteria), from 1819, but also a 10th century Gospel, were presented among others in an exhibition held at the Bavarian State Library of Munich.

The documents, in addition to several books, state documents and other rare objects, had been donated to the Bavarian State Library by the king of Bavaria, Ludwig II, which he inherited from his uncle, king of Greece, Otto.

The opening of the exhibition was greeted by the Philhellene Bavarian Minister of Science, Research and Arts, Mr. Heubisch.
