Architects “Design” Greek-Turkish Friendship

5 teams of architects, each one consisting of 2 Greek and 2 Turkish representatives worked together on joint architecture projects during a 10-days seminar in Kos under the guidance of the Technical Institute of the Dodecanese and the Turkish Architects Union.

The project was based on a co-operation memorandum signed by both sides to promote interdisciplinarity and common ideas.

5 different regions of the island of Kos were used as the hardcore basis, on which all architects drew their designs, so as to transform the naked and tired landscape into a modern and picturesque place.

Young experts representing the new wave in architecture approached different themes and tried to co-operate in order to prove that the two countries can work with each other and let go of their troublesome past in favor of peace, friendship and co-existence.

The first steps bringing the neighboring countries closer have already been made with the 8th Greece-Turkey Forum on Tourism, which seeks to promote cooperation in the fields of viable tourism and security of friendship relations.
