German Magazine Focus Versus Greece

The weekly German newsmagazine ‘Focus’ published a new an article against Greece. In this edition of Focus has been added a covershot of the Acropolis sinking.

In a previous edition of Focus, when the Greek economic crisis broke out, the editors of the magazine have edited in the first cover a humiliating photo of Aphrodite of Melos island (Venus de Milo), making an obscene gesture against the members of the Euro Zone.

This German version of Venus has caused outrage in Greece during its publication.

In the new edition of Focus under the title “Is our money lost?” is depicted Parthenon that sinks, except for its pediment, in the sea. Over the sea is distinguished a “popping out” statue’s head, with a euro note remaining on it.

The subheadings of the cover page underlined: “Billions for nothing – Merkel in need. What the saver should know about the Euro crisis”.

In the online version of this reportage on the Focus website are being underlined the following: “the sovereign default of Greece is coming closer. Many German people “are sinking” everyday without a result. Are we going to take our money back?

The savers are anxious. Is there any salvation?
