Greek Man Suspected of Involvement in the Murder of Young Woman in Hamburg

Nicole Keele

A young woman from Texas who was planning to study in Germany was found stabbed to death in a Hamburg hotel room, police there said.

The woman was identified as Brittany Nicole Keele, 23, the Hamburger Abendblatt reported. She was killed Aug. 31.

A young Greek man suspected of involvement in the killing tried to kill himself by jumping from a parking deck at the airport, police said. He was seriously injured, and detectives said they had not yet been able to question him.
Investigators were trying to trace Keele’s movements in the days before her death. Police said Monday she had been living in Hamburg since June, staying with a friend, and was in Berlin Aug. 30.
Keele was from Pearland, Texas, in the Houston area. A friend, Cortnee Rambo, described her as an adventurous person who loved to travel.

“She’s very trusting, and I’m not trying to speak ill, but I think somebody probably fooled her and she offered a lending hand and they took advantage of her, honestly, is what I think,” Rambo told KRIV-TV, Houston.
