Greece Ranks First for Number of Uninsured Cars in Europe

Greece ranks first in the number of uninsured cars in Europe with 15% of cars being uninsured, while Britain comes second at 6%.

Austria and Germany have zero uninsured vehicles. This was the statement from the Chairman of Car Insurance Companies Association in Greece, K. Bertsias,  noting that according to estimations, the number of uninsured vehicles in Greece is around 1.5 million.

He announced that next year, the electronic integrated database will have been completed to combat the phenomenon.  Mr. Bertsias, speaking on NET channel, said that this practice has not been adopted by citizens lately and is a chronic problem. He continued that due to the economic crisis, the rate of uninsured cars has further increased.
