Number of Turks on Holiday in Greek Islands Increases

The number of Turks who visit the Greek islands, mainly those that are very close to the Turkish coasts, has increased, as it has become three times higher in a very short time.  This phenomenon has also been observed by local travel agencies. The owner of the Turkish agency and representative of the Turkish shipping company “EFELER”, Maria Protopsalti said: “When it became known that a visa was no longer necessary, many Turks went to Lesvos on our boats”. The company “EFELER” and the owners of the Jale company thought that they should reduce the price of tickets from Aivali to Mytilini. Now passenger tickets cost 25 instead of 50 euros and car tickets cost 40 instead of 70 euros. More than 150 Turks had booked tickets for Tuesday.”
As a result, it is believed that the market of Lesvos has new opportunities and local agents and institutions should make plans in order to profit from this situation.
