The play “Alkisti” of director Tilemahos Moudatsakis was staged with great success at the Avignon Festival, with people praising both Crete and Rethymno. The play was staged by the Vivi Theatre in cooperation with the municipal theatre of Rethymno and was praised for its esthetics and its elements of modern Greek culture.
The Avignon Festival was first established in 1947 and takes place every July. Every year it welcomes more than 100.000 theatergoers.
The play “Alkistis” will also be presented in Crete at the Fortress Theatre on August 5th and in Arkadi on August 6th.
Tilemahos Moudatsakis was responsible for the direction, translation and costumes of the play, while the scenery was prepared by Kostas Christidis, the music by Vasilis Panopoulos and the choreography by Katia Savrami.
