New Film of Lanthimos to be Shown at Venice Film Festival

Greek director Giorgos Lanthimos, who was a candidate for Best Foreign Language film at the Academy Awards with his film ‘Dogtooth’, will participate in September in the Venice Film Festival with his new film ‘Alps’.

The 68th festival will take place from August 31st until September 10th, and the film will come out in Greek cinemas on October 27th. In the film, the leading roles are played by Ariane Labed, Aggeliki Papoulia and Aris Servetalis.

Alps is a film about a business established by a nurse, a rhythmic athlete, an ambulance man and a trainer who take the place of dead people to relieve the pain of the families for the loss of their dearest. Lanthimos promises that this film will be even darker than Dogtooth.
