Hellenic Foundation for Culture Presents Stavros Mihalarias’ Exhibition, Berlin

The Berlin brach of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture presents a sculpture exhibition with works of Stavros Mihalarias. The 25 works of the Greek artist will be presented both at the spaces of the Branch and at the outdoor space of Wittenbergplatz square, where the Branch is located.

The exhibition will include a tri-lingual visual catalogue and will be open from the 27th of May until the 30th of June. The sculptures are made of polished and finished aluminium. They consist of a group of organic forms which float. They are three-dimensional and each form, from its side view, looks like an extension of its outline, but without losing its volume. The works are tightly connected to the biography of the artist and reflect the contradictions he experienced as an art restorer, seller and creator. There are basically representative figures, the clarity of which has been de-assembled, constructing an ostensibly abstract representation, made of basic geometrical shapes.
