Eurovision Song from FYROM Causes Uproar

FYROM’s song for the Eurovision has caused uproar. Our neighbors chose a song, through which they intend to show that they are Macedonians. Vlatko Ilievsky’s song is titled “Rusinka” and it is about the love story between a man from FYROM and a woman from Russia. When he declares his love for the woman, the young man calls himself “Macedonian”. This was enough to cause a stir, as the music festival seems to have turned to a political arena. The issue has been raised to the Greek Parliament. “The conditions of EBU are specific and this participation of FYROM is against them. According to the rules, songs with political or nationalistic messages are strictly prohibited”. ERT says that the organization responsible to solve the issue is only EBU, as the decision prohibiting such songs belongs to it.
