FM Droutsas Discusses Cypriot Issue with British Counterpart Hauge

Greek Foreign Minister Demetris Droutsas has stressed, during his meeting in London with his British counterpart William Hauge, that the reality over the negotiation process in Cyprus is far from the positive light the Turkish side is portraying it in.
Droutsas added that the Turkish side is supported by forces that are in the position to influence the UN Secretariat towards a “negative direction”. He also stressed that a Cyprus solution, based on UN resolutions and the EU’s acquis communautaire, would be to the benefit of all countries involved.
In a brief statement before the meeting, British Foreign Secretary William Hague said that Britain, Greece, and the EU as a whole, are putting an effort in solving the Cyprus problem.
