A three day visit to Germany is taking place by the Deputy Minister of Education, Long Life Learning and Religious Affairs Evi Christophilopoulou.  During her visit, she will make contacts with Diaspora bodies, so as to officially commence public discussion on the issue of Greek education.
The Deputy Minister of Education made a commitment that the leadership of the Ministry will study the particular traits of each region and state individually, so that the final decisions – which will be a result of consultation – will meet the strategic goal for the upgrade of provided education, and serve the Greeks of the Diaspora.
“The central motto of the Ministry of Education, “Student comes first”, is the motto for the consultation with the Greek Diaspora”, emphasized Ms. Christophilopoulou.  She added that the key objective is that the New School will provide equal study opportunities to the children of the Diaspora, both in their place of residence as well as in Greece.

The Deputy Minister visited the Greek Primary School in Dusseldorf, where she had a series of meetings with Teacher, Professors’ associations, the Parents’ Association of North Rhine – Westphalia, the Consul General of Greece in Dusseldorf, the Coordinator of Education and the Board of Directors of the Federation of Greek Communities in Germany.
Yesterday Christophilopoulou visited the 1st Greek High School of Munich, where she had a series of meetings with the Consul General, the Coordinator of Education and representatives of Teachers and Parents’ Associations from all cities in Bavaria. In the evening she attended a symposium in Munich attended by representatives of University, Educational and Social bodies, organized by the Diaspora e-magazine “Doryforos”.
