Theo Anegelopoulos is the guest of honor at Adana Golden Film Festival

The 17th International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival will be organized from June 7 to 13 in the Mediterranean city of Adana. One of the most rooted festivals in Turkey with 41-year history, the festival will screen more than 200 films as well as include feature and short film competitions, workshops and concerts.
The world-renowned Greek director Theo Anegelopoulos will come to Adana as the guest of honor at this year’s festival. He will meet the audience during a discussion on “Angelopoulos Cinema” on June 10. The discussion will also be attended by director and scriptwriter Füruzan Angelopoulos, Greek scriptwriter Petros Markaris, film critic Dimitris Haritos and Necati Sönmez, who made a documentary on Angelopoulos in 2003.
The Golden Boll International Film Festival, organized by the Adana Metropolitan Municipality for the 17th time, will take place between June 7 and 13 this year. More than 200 films will be screened at seven movie theaters during the festival.
The Golden Boll International Film Festival in Adana is one of the most rooted film festivals in Turkey with a history running back 41 years. The opening ceremony of the festival will be held on June 8 at the Metropolitan Municipality Theater Hall. There will be a National Feature Film Competition, National Student Films Competition and Mediterranean Countries Short Film Competition as part of the festival.
The Lifetime Achievement Award, which is a tradition of the festival, will be presented to actress Müjde Ar and the honorary chairman of the Cinema Writers Association and film critic Atilla Dorsay. A selection of Ar’s films will also be shown in this section of the festival.
The festival will bring together film lovers with short feature films and documentaries from around the world. Films will be shown under the titles “World Cinema,” “Palestine Longing for Peace” and “Discoveries of the International Film Critics’ Union.”
