Stavros Flatley to perform in Plymouth for Christmas

BRITAIN’S Got Talent dance duo Stavros Flatley are to perform at Plymouth’s West End carnival week.
The comedy act will grace the Independent Quarter’s annual Christmas celebrations on December 3.
Greek Cypriot Demetrios Demetriou and his teenage son Lagi shot to fame after performing on the television talent show.
Their appearance is part of a range of events planned for the seasonal carnival and celebrations marking the completion of the £3.1million West End Redevelopment works.
During the first week of December, the Independent Quarter will be filled with family events and activities including
Tuesday, December 1: Civic reception for West End re-opening, and entertainment in City Market to celebrate its 50th birthday.
Thursday, December 3: West End Christmas Carnival. The free entertainment starts from 4pm. Events all take place at Frankfort Gate on the Heart FM Stage. There will be a lantern parade from the Market car park to Frankfort Gate from 5pm, a samba band, street entertainment and Santa and his reindeer, plus Stavros Flatley performing live on stage.
Friday, December 4: Christmas cookery demonstrations in the Market by chef Jacques Marchal, performances in the Market by the Salvation Army Band and festive street entertainment.
Saturday, December 5. Christmas Sci-Fi Day returns for the third time. Frankfort Gate will host activities including an appearance by the Screech Owl Sanctuary and Plymouth City Transport Preservation Group. There will be street entertainment in the market.
During the week, students from Plymouth College of Art are taking part in the project to design shop windows as part of the West End Regeneration Arts programme.
