Spain Ambassador ‘Shocked’ After Anarchists Storm Embassy in Athens

Spain’s Ambassador in Greece said that he was shocked following the invasion of his embassy by more than a dozen self-proclaimed anarchists protesting in favour of Catalonian independence.
“I’m still very shocked and surprised because I’m not used to experiencing such events,” Enrique Viguera said.
Speaking to ANA-MPA, Vigera added that there were no injuries to embassy staff and he  praised the police for “acting quickly and efficiently”.
The demonstrators; who belong to the anarchist group Rouvikonas (Rubicon), stormed the building near the Acropolis on Wednesday morning.
They unfurled a banner from the roof of the building reading “No Pasaran!” (They Shall Not Pass), a leftist slogan from the Spanish Civil War.

They also threw dozens of leaflets calling for solidarity to the Catalan cause.
Greek police later detained 19 people, a police official said.
In a message posted on the Athens Indymedia website, the group said the raid was in support of the “oppressed people of Catalonia” and against “state violence and repression”.
