Books On The Map: An Interactive Map of Greek Books

books-on-the-mapBooks On The Map is an interactive map of Greek literature. Users can pin the places used by Greek writers as the main setting in their stories. “The site was born out of our love for literature and aims to map the places around us where the stories of Greek books unfolded and continue to unfold,” the team behind the site wrote.
There are two main reasons why Books On The Map is only restricted to Greek literature. First, the creators thought that Greece’s literature was fairly broad and that it was enough in itself to fill up a comprehensive list of places, while also setting a framework so that the website does not end up becoming a chaotic database that guests will find hard to navigate through.
Apart from the places pinned by the creators, Books on the Map also lets guests add their own favorite book on the map. All they have to do is click the “Submit Place” button and fill in the author’s name and book title, as well as the town and country data where the story played out. The users also need to submit a book cover photo and a brief summary history to provide enough information for their fellow bookworms.
The map has already filled with numerous red pins in various parts of the world and is currently waiting for new submissions.
