Greek Businesses Make Up Considerable Portion of Foreign Companies in Albania

Greek business continues to grow in Albania as Greek companies make up a considerable portion of businesses with foreign capital in the country, according to statements by the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) on Friday.

“Foreign companies and companies with joint capital occupy 3.5 percent of active companies in Albania and 47.2 percent of them are Italian and Greek companies,” the report read.

Of the companies which are foreign, 68.8 percent are from European Union member states and little more than half of them – 56.4 percent – are either Greek or Italian companies and they are involved in businesses such as call centers, shoe factories and banking activities, INSTAT said.
