Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Hold Open Leture in Geneva on April 24

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will hold an open public lecture at the headquarters of the World Council of Churches in Geneva on April 24, where he will address issues related to the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church, held last year in Crete.

The lecture, scheduled at 12:00, will also discuss issues concerning modern environmental challenges and the protection of the rights of children.

The Patriarch has been in Switzerland since Thursday to participate in the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Orthodox Center of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Chambesy and the 20th anniversary since the establishment of the institute of postgraduate studies in the Center.

Bartholomew is also set to give a lecture at the University of Fribourg and visit the ecumenical monastic order of Taizé in France, in a first ever visit by an Ecumenical Patriarch.
