Savvopoulos to Perform for Greek School in Istanbul

The students of Zografeion Greek school in Istanbul will have the unique opportunity of attending, along with students of Mandoulides school, a musical performance by Dionysis Savvopoulos, a well-known Greek singer and songwriter who originally comes from Istanbul.

The event will take place on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 7 pm in Zografeion Lyceum in Istanbul, which is celebrating 121 years since its founding and the Presentation of Our Lady of Pera.

During the event, school director Giannis Demirtzoglou will give Savvopoulos the award of honorary student of Zografeion.

The event will be attended by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, as well as graduates of Zografeion from the class of 1964, who will celebrate their golden anniversary, and the graduates of 1974. A special ceremony for graduates will be held on Friday afternoon.
