According to Fortune magazine, the Greek coffee chain Coffee Island ranks among the 10 best coffee chains in southern Europe.
The European Coffee Awards are the most prestigious awards in the coffee industry. Organized for the seventh consecutive year by Allegra Group, the competition rewards the industry’s leading companies and individuals with innovative ideas.
Alexandros Zapaniotis, Marketing Manager of Coffee Island, claimed that this award has vaulted Coffee Island into a European-wide consciousness. He said that the primary goal of the company is the high quality of products and services. He also reported that the award gives them the strength to continue good work.
Coffee Island was founded in 1999 in the city of Patras in southern Greece. 15 years later, it has expanded all throughout Greece. Today, the company has 160 branches in Greece, 27 in Cyprus, one in Romania and one in Albania. Since 2010, the growth rate has been particularly high, with Coffee Island having been honored twice as Greece’s fastest growing chain.
