Ioli Andreadi: A Greek Director in Rome

andreadiGreek director Ioli Andreadi participates for the third time in the international theatrical workshop “World Wide Lab” that takes place from September 15 to October 12 at the Teatro Due in RomeĀ under the theme “Destruction and Rebirth.”

After two consecutive years in Brooklyn, New York (Irondale Center), the Lab will be hosted in a European city for the first time.

The Lab was created in 2011 by graduates of Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab. It is an international platform of directors from various countries acrossĀ the world, including Greece, who meet each year, aiming to work intensively and collectively for a month on the creation and presentation of theatrical projects on a specific themeĀ at a time.

The Lab’s first themeĀ in 2012 was “Feast,” while inĀ 2013, the themeĀ was “Ritual.”

In this year’s event, the Greece ‘sĀ  director,Ā along withĀ Annie Levy, will present “Young Lear,” based on William Shakespeare’s “King Lear.” Andreadi’s other important works were “Kassia,” presented at theĀ Television Control Centre and “Winchester’s Widow” at the Bob theatre festival.

TheĀ Lab’s artistic directors forĀ 2014 are Laura Caparotti from Italy and Orly Noa Rabinyan fromĀ Israel. The directors forĀ this year are: Laura Caparrotti, Orly Noa Rabinyan, Chang Nai Wen, Laura Tesman, Jay Stern, Annie Levy, Evan Cummings, Vidhu Singh, Evan Tsitsias, Jocelyn Yuchia Chang, Esther Jun and Ioli Andreadi.
